VePa – Vision Urban Mobility

From Parking Spaces to Green Mobility Hubs
Urban parking spaces—often exceeding 500m² of asphalt allocated exclusively for vehicle storage—offer no provisions for pedestrians or urban activities. The VePa parking system is dedicated to tackle these inefficiencies, rethinking parking and charging, thereby reshaping the urban environment. This future cityscape is imagined in three designs for 2026, 2028 and 2030.
Beta Realities envisions a design catalogue to transform VePa’s parking towers into urban catalysts that revive existing parking lots and horizontal sealed surfaces, while offering sustainable parking and charging spaces for a better quality of life. The VePa parking tower creates a space-saving e-charging infrastructure for metropolitan areas and combines forward-thinking technologies with ecological and economic potential. By designing a modular kit-of-parts to activate not only the parking towers, but the landscape around them, Beta Realities envisions future mobility as vertical communal spaces, that invite for activities, integrate urban farming and offer public arts. As a main feature the facade of the VePa Parking Tower is used for different functions, adding complexity over time. A green facade and a climbing wall provide a simple base, vertical circulation makes the roof accessible, and solar panels and closed spaces form the third more technical stage of evolution.

Sustainable Parking Solutions for Green Cities
Tomorrows VePa parking towers are catering to the urban transformation and green cities. Only 2 parking towers transform 17 parking lots into 24, while creating living urban spaces for communities and green spaces with playgrounds, sports facilities and bike charging stations. The VePa Parking Tower allows for more than 50% of the area to be transformed into public space. From now on not only can the flat plane be used, but the parking towers allow the integration of sports, urban farming and energy production.
VePa parking systems have up to 98% lower CO2 emissions compared to underground parking and add sustainable value through low land sealing and the promotion of forward-thinking technologies such as battery storage, photovoltaics and greening.
VePa parking systems support the expansion of the urgently needed charging infrastructure in a sustainable way:​ Through a low CO2 emission during construction and little surface sealing or active unsealing during use.

Growing over Time
With growth incorporated into the design, the VePa towers adapt to any given urban fabric and grow over time. Through the implementation of additional functions, platforms and experiences the towers become true urban centers.
The adaptable design concept allows each parking tower to be extended into true cultural spaces. With the integration of lookout platforms, art installations and experience paths, we transform parking into three-dimensional parks. Charging, mobility and community are cultivated by a growing urban catalyst. 
True Mobility Centers
In addition to space-saving charging infrastructures for electric cars the VePa system also offers vertical space for sustainable mobility concepts such as shared and micro-mobility like scooters and bikes.
By integrating urban functions like co-working, lounges and meeting spaces into the VePa concept, we transform mobility and charging hubs to meaningful places that activate the urban environment. Multi-modality, logistics and drone delivery are combined with state-of-the art public spaces.
